A strong background in high-speed analog design is essential - it all starts there. Design skills must be current because this person will be handed some of our most challenging design tasks. We have a senior crew that doesnt require a lot of management but they do require technical leadership. If you dont have the technical skills to command their respect it wont work. A mix of experience working in large and small semiconductor design shops is ideal but not required. We strongly prefer commercial experience so they have an appreciation for cost and time.
