JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary and Mission
This job contributes to Starbucks success by managing the development and implementation of large or highly-complex new programs or processes that improve profitability, reduce costs, streamline operations or enhance customer service. Will be supporting coffee and tea supply chain commercialization for new product initiatives. Responsible for maanging from concept through to on the shelf launch. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Leads project teams and subteams to develop and implement new programs and process improvements. Manages projects in accordance with Starbucks established program management methodologies. Ensures that multiple projects meet specified timelines and deliver expected results.
- Manages and monitors project or program schedules, progress and costs to ensure that expected results are delivered on time and within budget. Maintains, adjusts and updates project plans as needed. Consolidates, communicates and ensures resolution of all issues. May develop and collect performance metrics.
- Represents business unit, department or functional area on cross-functional project teams. Provides functional expertise to assess potential financial and operational impact.

- Project management, including all elements of scope, time, cost, risk, quality, integration, procurement, human resources and communications (7 years)
- Working across functional areas to develop effective business solutions that align with company and business unit/department objectives (7 years)
- Building, leading and mentoring teams (5 years)
- Managing complex large-scale or multiple mid-sized projects (5 years)
- Requirements gathering and analysis (5 years)
- Mentoring other project managers in program and project management (2 years)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Change management skills
- Ability to lead and mentor team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Project
- Ability to define objectives, scope and resources for projects extending beyond a department or business unit
- General knowledge of business unit, department or functional areas processes and systems
- Understanding of business unit, department or functional areas goals and practices
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to establish cross functional, collaborative relationships with business partners
- Knowledge of basic business principles and company goals and objectives
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, from initial justification through implementation and evaluation
- Ability to lead complex program and project efforts to completion
