Manager, Supplier Management

Nissan Forklift Corporation, North America (NFC), a subsidiary of Nissan Motor Limited located in Marengo, IL (a far Northwest suburb), seeks Manager, Supplier Management to report directly to the VP, Supplier Management & Materials.  

Primary Responsibilities

• Implement actions to support the aggressive company purchasing cost reduction goals.


• Develop strategies, policies and procedures to optimize value of the purchasing function, as well as building a competent and focused, purchasing team.


• Drive standardization of department processes and procedures, manage supplier selection and approval processes, and develop commodity strategies.


• Negotiate master purchase agreements and vendor contracts with a bias for achievement of quality, delivery, cost containment and process improvement.


• Participate in existing and new product planning processes to assure timely acquisition of materials to support product launches.


• Active member of a Global Purchasing Team seeking the most capable and competitive suppliers worldwide.


• Lead continuous improvement and process improvement activities with the supply chain with a major emphasis on cost control.


• Establish costing and pricing mechanisms with suppliers based upon fluctuating commodity markets.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of seven years experience with production and sourcing with a demonstrated record of increasing responsibility.    


• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing requirements planning and quality systems.


• Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.  Master’s Degree in Business (MBA) preferred.
