A successful Associate in the Corporate Strategy team
• Applies their exceptional proficiency in strategic analysis to a wide range of issues in creative ways to provide impactful insights for major strategy projects and / or corporate development initiatives.
• Owns end-to-end responsibility for a significant component of one or more strategy projects and initiatives.
• Acts independently to determine their approach and process for new assignments.
• Works in close collaboration with other team members and a set of cross-functional business unit colleagues.
• Develops professional expertise while learning the key aspects of the job.
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, candidate must:
• Possess a degree from a top MBA or JD program
• Have 2-5 years work experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm -- or in a respected operating companys strategy function - with demonstrable business acumen, analytical ability, and ability to execute projects.
• Have an analytical orientation and possess strong problem-solving skills, demonstrated by the ability to structure an issue and analyze alternative solutions. The knowledge of an array of analytical methods, and the ability to deploy the appropriate approach in a timely manner, is critical.
• Be a creative thinker: Ability to envision new and innovative ideas and approaches and ways to take them to fruition.
• Be a curious, creative, internally-motivated self-starter with ability to plan, organize and establish priorities to manage multiple projects and achieve results.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills in order to interact with potential strategic partners, acquisition targets, end customers and internal senior management as needed.
• Demonstrate a passion for ownership through a track record of successfully achieving results in an ambiguous work environment. Tenacity and resourcefulness are essential.
• Be a Leader-Teacher who thrives in an environment where team members continuously learn from and teach each other.
• Have superior communications (written/verbal), presentation and facilitation skills. The ability to structure a concise, clear presentation of findings, and effectively present this to any level in the organization is a must.
• Support an environment that encourages constructive debate in order to reach better outcomes.
• Be a self-starter who can quickly and independently assess business requirements and become a trusted and integral part of the Corporate Strategy team.
