This is a Chief Operations Officer (COO) position with a profitable and well-established dental practice management organization that has a remarkable track record of profitable operations. This organization has been profitable every quarter, without exception, for its entire 20 years of business. The organization employs over 200 employees in 15 locations in Northern California. The organization is poised for significant growth through an expansion plan that will open new locations in new markets in 2010 as well as increased revenues from existing operations. In fact, current senior management believes that the revenues of the company could grow by 100% or more in the next two years as these plans are implemented.
This company is affiliated with a group of companies (“Affiliated Group of Companies”) that, in the aggregate, generate $140,000,000 in revenues.
Regarding this position, the selected executive will have full responsibility for all elements of the day-to-day operations of a multi-site dental practice management business. Several mid management professionals, and their corresponding departments, report to this position, including operations director, director of marketing, purchasing, compliance, human resources, new business development, and training. The selected executive must be comfortable with reviewing and analyzing financial information, developing financial and operational metrics, and developing strategies for minimizing liability aspects of the operations.
The qualified executive must have extensive management experience of at least 10 years and have at least 5 years of experience in management in the general healthcare field or other healthcare services field that operate through multiple locations. This position requires the ability to manage multi-site locations with hundreds of employees, creating a corporate management team that will support the operations and interact with other divisions of the Affiliated Group of Companies. The position is responsible for not only day-to-day operations of the division, but will also be responsible for leading the expansion of the business in new geographic locations. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the Affiliated Group of Companies.
Although direct knowledge of group dental practices is helpful, it is not a requirement for this position. However, if an executive does not have experience from the dental field, the executive will be required to gain operational knowledge of this industry in a relatively short period of time. Leading the management team, overseeing current operations, and developing growth strategies will eventually require in-depth understanding of the dental field.
