OUR CLIENT: Is a global advanced materials company that develops and manufactures advanced composite materials for aircraft structures and components specializing in the general aviation industry.
They are seeking an individual that is currently a Director/Manager of Quality with a historical job growth in the quality area with extensive manufacturing experience in composite materials and structures in the aerospace industry.

SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Quality will provide technical expertise and administrative leadership for all quality functions related to the Company’s aircraft composite materials and structures activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for all quality activities required to support the company’s current aircraft related product lines, as well as the development of new products for the aircraft market.
• Responsible for all quality activities required to meet customer and government requirements and strive for continuous improvement.
• Interpret and implement standards and specifications relating to ISO, UL, AS9100, NADCAP
• Recruitment and management of a quality team to support the company’s current aircraft related product lines of advanced composite materials and aircraft structure design, and to identify and develop quality systems required for potential new product lines
• Coordinate activities with manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing, and other groups within the company, consistent with the group’s strategic goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.S. Degree in an engineering or related discipline
• Must have five to seven years quality experience in a manufacturing environment, Aerospace industry experience required.
• Leading candidate would currently be a Director/Manager of Quality with a historical job growth in the quality area and have a strong aviation composite manufacturing background
• Strong working knowledge of the Quality System Regulation, ISO, AS9100, NADCAP and FAA airworthiness requirements.
• Strong composites and prepreg knowledge in general aviation industry.
• Background in day to day experience on the factory floor
• Extensive knowledge of FAA required quality systems and demonstrated experience overseeing quality systems required to supply to major General Aviation OEM’s.
• Ability to know and communicate with customers and suppliers to ensure continuous quality improvement and to resolve non-conforming quality issues.
• Exposure to six sigma and lean manufacturing tools desired.
• Strong communication, analytical and technical writing skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
• Computer literate with good working knowledge of Word, Excel & Access.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Domestic and International Travel required (15%)
