Act as the Country Managers (CM) principal peacekeeping operations (PKO) staff instructor for African military units receiving US Department of States African Contingency Operations and Training Assistance (ACOTA) Program training. Instruct and supervise PKO unit staff operations training in Africa for African company, battalion and brigade sized units deploying to PKOs. Staff Operations training shall focus on operations center organization and operations, staff functions, Intelligence Preparation of the Area of Operations (IPAO), and the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP). Responsible for ensuring the development of Programs of Instruction (POIs), lesson plans, and training support packages for collective training, and that they are carried out as noted in each ACOTA Program Office (APO) task order. Training shall support the preparation of partner country battalions and brigades for deployments to, and sustained operations in multinational peacekeeping operations in Africa by training African commanders and staffs in peace support operations command and staff operating skills and procedures. Ensure that all training scenarios are based on the most current mission area information from Areas of Operation that African PKO battalions and brigades will deploy to. Training will involve classroom instruction, Peace Support Operation Command Post Exercises, and Computer Assisted Command Post Exercises. All classes shall be taught in the training language of the Host Nation military.

- Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of college course work leading to an advanced degree is preferred.
- Completion of US Military Education Command and General Staff College or equivalent is preferred.

- Minimum of five (5) years of US military operations and training experience required.


- A unique blend of skills, experience, and knowledge that will allow the individual to best support the goals and tasks of the ACOTA program required.
- Should be a Subject Matter Expert in at least one Combat Arms, Combat Support, or Combat Service Support US Military Occupational Specialty, Branch or Functional Area.
- Staff experience at battalion or brigade level is required.
- Should be familiar with standard military training concepts, practices and procedures.
- Individual with recent US military combat and/or PKO experience at the O-5/O-6 level preferred.
