Project Manager - Transit Systems (hw sw, comms)

Client is an established and industry-leading group developing advanced transit fleet management systems for public transit . They are expanding their operations in the Northwestern USA and are looking for a motivated Project Manager to join the team.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Overall management of schedule and cost performance for technical integration projects preferably with specific experience serving the public transit market.
- Management and coordination of engineering resources, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve the project’s schedule and cost objectives.  Managing a core group of 6-8 people with up to 20 at various points in the deliverables cycle.
- Project Status Reviews for both the external customer and the internal executive management team.
- All project management tasks including but not limited to: creation and management of master schedules, material and labor financial forecasts, statements of work for subcontractors, purchasing requisitions, etc…
- Travel to customer site for project reviews, design reviews and testing activities. Travel requirement approximately 50%
- Creation and management of Customer Change Orders.

Other Responsibilities:
- Support new business initiatives such as proposal preparation.
- Negotiate technical statements of work and price for new projects.
- Project risk assessment and management.
- Continue formal training to maintain program management skill set.
- All other duties as assigned.

Technical Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, Industrial Management, Business Administration or equivalent field of study.
- Working experience with Oracle databases and real time software systems
- Working experience with complex systems involving hardware, WAN and wireless communications, and customized software.
- Ten years of related experience
- Two years of supervisory experience
