They identify and implement high performance business value creation and transformation opportunities by delivering independent strategic and general management consulting services focused on the CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Therapeutic Area Business Leads agenda.  The Therapeutic Area Strategy Manager will collaborate with client teams to define, architect, drive and deliver transformational strategies that generate long-term client value.     Responsibilities: The Therapeutic Area Strategy Manager will join the North American Growth Strategy practice and bring leading consulting skills to support Therapeutic Area strategy development.  This includes the creation architecture and delivery of value provided by the application of:
  • Strong executive presence and client building / influencing skills
  • Exceptional communication and team building / mentoring skills
  • Ability to drive rigorous, fact-based appraisal of industry performance drivers and competitive dynamics
  • The application of innovative as well as established analytical tools to device a clearly articulated corporate strategy and business value
  • Deep business unit, commercial and/ or brand strategy experience
  • Deep industry knowledge and insight within Healthcare focusing on Pharmaceuticals and/or Medical Devices
The Therapeutic Area Strategy Manager will support delivery of client work and develop new client opportunities with both existing clients and prospective new clients:
  • Drive rigorous and structured approach to identifying and solving client problems
  • Structure and perform complex financial analyses and develop business cases in conjunction with industry and/or opportunity analyses
  • Lead efforts of managers, consultants and analysts on client engagements to ensure that the focus is correct and the work is accomplished on time, and meets or exceeds the highest quality standards.
  • Structure and develop high impact client communications
  • Conduct work in such a way that the results are both of distinctive quality and useful to the client in terms of improving competitive positioning
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
  • MBA or MPH degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years post graduate work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in strategy (i.e. business unit strategy, functional strategy, portfolio strategy, brand strategy) within life sciences focusing on Pharmaceuticals and/or Medical Devices 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience at a major consulting firm or equivalent in an internal consulting role
  • Minimum of 3 years in a consulting supervisory position 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in identifying and closing sales opportunities based on an extensive network of relationships in the Pharmaceuticals and/or Medical Devices industries 
  • Deep functional experience in therapeutic area strategy development as well as international experience (assignments outside of the US)
  • Industry experience in Medical Affairs, Market Research or Health Economics/Outcomes
  • Experience planning for and/or executing pharmaceutical product launch and product lifecycle management (e.g. primary care and specialty)
  • Experience in vaccines and specialty pharma 
  • Experience in developing professional post graduate (i.e. MBA) talent
  • Ability to meet travel requirements, up to 100%
