JOB DESCRIPTION
Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend, the leader in developing the region’s comprehensive workforce strategic plan is seeking the individual whose innovative strategies will address the workforce needs of the rural and urban communities it serves.
The Board of Directors seeks a President & CEO who will challenge the workforce system and create new initiatives and approaches to address workforce issues. This individual will partner with the Board of Directors, Chief Elected Officials, business partners, community organizations and staff to develop and implement plans and programs aimed at achieving the organization’s strategic goals. The President & CEO will also explore and implement alternative sources of funding to build workforce capacity in the region.
The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate prior experience and success in the following areas:
- Strategic planning and successful visionary manager;
- Able to create and sustain positive relationships;
- Experienced in collaborating with a cross-section of stakeholders to develop and implement strategic and operational plans;
- Proficient at managing financial resources and personnel to achieve goals;
- Skilled in serving effectively within the state, regional and local political environment;
- Knowledgeable of federal and state regulations, policies, and rules to ensure contractual requirements with funding organizations are met within the required parameters and,
- Ensure the overall operational and fiscal integrity of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Seven years of senior level management (i.e. CEO, President, Executive Director or Senior Vice President or similar senior level management experience) required.
- Experience leading a complex organization with a multi-million dollar budget required.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills required.
- Experience in developing programs that create, sustain and retain a viable workforce that can support current and future business and industry preferred.
