JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Director, Global Compliance and Ethics Officer, the Manager, Global Compliance and Ethics, will bring extensive and well-rounded compliance and ethics experience, preferably in a highly-regulated industry, and will support the Director on both a strategic and tactical level. The incumbent will interact with all levels of management and design and lead initiatives and projects designed to foster a culture of compliance and ethics everywhere we do business. This position currently has no direct reports, but will likely have direct reports as the GCE function grows.


 



  • Participates in the development of Global Compliance and Ethics (GCE) annual plan;

  • Partners with Internal Audit and other key members of management to develop and implement the enterprise risk management (ERM) process;

  • Updates, maintains, and implements the Company’s Code of Conduct for Compliance and Ethics.

  • Manages compliance and ethics policy development;

  • Manages all aspects of the GCE global training and learning program;

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of a multi-media, integrated GCE communications plan;

  • Collaborates in the development of the Company’s “Speaking Up” program and related policies and protocols;

  • Assures the smooth and efficient operation of the Company’s HelpLine and HelpSite;

  • Supports Director is developing presentations for Board of Directors and Executive Management;

  • Partners with corporate functions to ensure that key GCE; and

  • Manages specific GCE projects and programs as needed.

  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in the Arts and Sciences.

  • The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of seven to ten years experience working for a large, multinational organization in a highly regulated or scrutinized industry.

  • The incumbent must possess a working understanding of risk management, corporate compliance programs, and corporate messaging.

  • The ideal incumbent will be able to see the relationship between reputation management, public relations, communications, and compliance and ethics – and be able to understand how disparate projects ultimately fit together in pursuit of GCE’s vision and mission.

  • The ideal candidate has experience working internationally and/or has spent significant time working with international business partners to develop and implement corporate programs across division and globally.

  • The candidate must be able to demonstrate successes working across functions, geographies, and cultures.

  • The ideal candidate will possess strong conceptual skills, a willingness and ability to think out of the box and challenge respectfully the status quo, and the capability of converting concepts into action plans.

  • The incumbent will interact with all levels of management, and, as such, must possess superior communication skills (both written and oral), diplomacy, and “active” listening skills. 

  • The idea candidate has a positive outlook.

  • The ideal candidate will be highly motivated.

  • Other required skills include organizing resources and establishing priorities; ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports; use of personal computers and related software applications; ability to foster a cooperative work environment; and the ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
