GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs and coordinates detailed analysis and appraisal of
F/A-18F Super Hornet centric hardware, systems, equipment designs, configuration management, automated maintenance environment hardware/software, technical publications and technology transfer to ensure the integration of support considerations into the design process for an F/A-18F Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customer; works under limited supervision; does related work as required. Supports the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) F/A-18F Program Assistant Program Manager for Logistics at Naval Air Systems Command Headquarters.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform Configuration Management (CM) actions and tasks for RAAF F/A-18F program; act as the single Point of Contact (POC) for RAAF for all CM activities, develop and maintain a standardized ECP Tracking Database, and all other CM activities to ensure RAAF inclusion in applicable projects;
2. Serves and team Technical Publication/Technical Data (Tech Data) transfer point person; processes tech data requests and transfers in accordance with applicable US and international laws.
3. Provides Organizational (O), Intermediate (I), and Depot (D) level maintenance technology and information that ensures effective and efficient support for manufacturing, or servicing of products, equipment, and/or systems specific to RAAF F/A-18F aircraft and associated systems;
4. Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, and related information to identify and document maintenance and support requirements associated with the RAAF F/A-18F aircraft, aircraft upgrades and associated systems;
5. Develops supportability parameters for development and support of automated maintenance environment (AME) hardware and software equipment to support RAAF F/A-18F aircraft;
6. Coordinates support requirements such as facilities, personnel, safety, maintenance, etc. related to F/A-18F O, I, and D Levels of Support Equipment, Spares, Technical Training, Software Support, etc. for the RAAF Program;
7. Reviews RAAF required Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities which include, but are not limited to, reviewing ECPs for hardware (H/W) and software (S/W) change packages for completeness and accuracy;
8. Anticipates RAAF F/A-18F logistics problems related to operational areas and environmental and human factors, and determines contingency requirements and solutions, as required;
9. Utilizes MS Project to track events, components, and costs related to aircraft acquisition and fleet introduction for RAAF F/A-18F;
10. Provides F/A-18F centric guidance and work leadership to less-experienced logistics personnel;
12. Participates in special projects as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Typically requires 8-10 years of related experience in logistics analysis and support, with at least 3 - 5 years of F/A-18E/F hands-on Organizational, or Intermediate-level maintenance experience;
2. F/A-18E/F tactical aviation maintenance experience, including detailed knowledge of AME for fleet-wide asset/inventory management functions, single point control of fleet baseline configuration, usage parameters, life consumption and maintenance planning for an intermediate maintenance repair facility (AIMD) and use of Interactive Electronic Technical Manual System (IETMS).
3. Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work/military experience specific to
F/A-18E/F aircraft maintenance/airframe support;
4. Masters Degree preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques involved in logistics support;
2. Advanced knowledge configuration management procedures and AME equipment and processes;
3. Certified International Configuration Manager (CICM) desired
4. Certified International Software Configuration Manager (CISCM) desired;
5. Familiarity with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Arms Export Control Act (AECA) desired;
6. Demonstration of a proven record of success on multiple aspects of FMS logistics, as well as knowledge of DOD FMS management and oversight procedures is desired;
7. Proficient in MS Office XP and MS Project.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
