Engineering Group Manager, Pump Stations

This individual will be responsible for managing the engineering team efforts as they relate to the Pump Station business. This leadership role will involve conceptualization and design, project management, concurrent engineering and quality improvement efforts, manufacturing implementation and escalated service support in a team environment. Management of multiple project / orders simultaneously will be required. This individual will be expected to provide technical leadership and supervision of engineers and technicians dedicated to the Pump Station and Packaged Systems electrical panel manufacturing operation. Additionally, this individual will help identify and implement shop related Lean and 5S manufacturing opportunities to improve productivity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of capital equipment product design, engineering and manufacturing experience
• 5+ years engineering management experience
• Practical knowledge of electro-mechanical monitoring and control concepts
• Design experience with high quality, controlled cost, low volume, single run products
• Success in product development as a member or leader of a cross-functional team
• CAD proficiency (SolidWorks and AutoCad preferred)
• 3 Phase and Single Phase electrical design proficiency and understanding of UL labeling
• Strong PLC and Graphical User Interface (touchscreen) programming skills with working knowledge of software revision control systems
• Willing to travel as required (light to moderate)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced team environment
• Solid project management skills
• Hands-on technical and mechanical involvement

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced engineering degree or MBA
• Experience with Pumps / Pumping Systems (water or air)
• Experience with PC controlled systems
• Experience with C++ / Visual Basic
• Experience with irrigation products
