As part of the newly-established Sector Affordability and Competitive Excellence organization the candidate will be responsible for: applying process/product development (Six Sigma DMADV) principles, theories, and concepts as well as develop new principles and concepts, work complex technical problems and provide innovative industrial engineering solutions affecting programmatic and engineering operating methods. Provides consultive direction toward long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Training to be provided by candidate to enterprise as required. Broad latitude is given in the performance and leadership of related implementation and change activities with minimal oversight. Candidate will conduct direct communication with programs and functional organizations and have responsibility for management and quality of results. Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications. Basic Qualifications: Technical degree, preferably engineering - 14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD. with at least 5 years experience in Lean/Six Sigma tools and methodologies and 5+ years as a certified Black Belt or equivalent leading multidimensional process improvement projects. Demonstrated knowledge and successful application of the DMADV methodology required. Process oriented - experience in or working with process/value stream mapping and process analysis. Strong knowledge in all aspects of project management including, but not limited to, requirements gathering, analysis, design, planning, testing, documentation and product implementation. Strong demonstrated team leadership and relationship skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and influencing skills. Highly results oriented; ability to effect change in a rapidly-paced environment. U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain a Security Clearance Required. Must have or be able to acquire a Secret clearance. Preferred Experience: Familiarity with audit, compliance and quality system process requirements.
