We are seeking a motivated individual to support HGS’ Commercial Operations departments (Strategic Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, Business Development). This position provides a unique opportunity to integrate sourcing functionality to a growing commercial infrastructure as we prepare for our first commercial launch.

In this role you will be responsible for the Sales and Marketing service category portfolio initially consisting of Print, Premiums, Public Relations, Market Research, and Advertising. You will further be responsible for developing strategic category sourcing plans to support the US Commercial Operations organization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Generate and analyze innovative sourcing options by leading cross-functional teams
• Build sourcing and supplier relationship management strategies that maximize value and manage supply risk, while ensuring that internal stakeholders requirements and timelines to support our commercialization efforts are met
• Ensure supplier alignment, capacity, and support for existing and future requirements for HGS’s commercial organization
• Maximize opportunities to leverage spend through partnered collaborations; and participate on partner category teams
• Perform risk and financial analyses to support sourcing decisions
• Perform industry analysis to identify size of industry, leading players, and specific industry characteristics
• Develop and implement sourcing plans to manage assigned spend categories
• Utilize ISM and related industry associations to identify, benchmark, and implement best practices
• Provide growth opportunities to small and diversity suppliers and include as appropriate in the bid, evaluation, and award process
• Increase overall awareness of the sourcing function’s value proposition to stakeholders

First Year Expectations
• Establish/Review strategic relationships with top suppliers across the commercial organization’s spend areas
• Perform procurement gap analysis and identify strategic initiatives (with action plan) to address findings
• Implement formal documented strategic sourcing processes across the Commercial Operations organization.    

Requirements
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with commercial teams in preparing and executing Commercial Operations’ procurement needs aligned with their strategy and activities
• Demonstrated category management/strategic sourcing experience across commercial spend areas in a pharmaceutical or biotech setting
• Category Management process expertise, including the thorough knowledge of the business, markets, and well developed technical and commercial knowledge of the Marketing and Sales products and services to be acquired
• Be highly effective at initiating, leading, and facilitating cross-functional teams, building cross-functional relationships, and developing cross-functional understanding
• Supplier relationship management expertise and experience in establishing and building successful supplier relationships
• Demonstrated skill in strategic sourcing, planning and leading negotiations, and have experience in structuring and managing supplier contracts
• Display excellent communication and influencing skills
• Utilize Strategic Sourcing best practices
• 7+ years of procurement related experience in a technology industry (biotech/pharma preferred)
• B.S. or B.A. required; Professional certification (CPM, CPIM, etc.) or MBA preferred
• 3-5 years of direct experience with strategic sourcing initiatives supporting a Sales and Marketing organization
• Software skills include Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project
