COO / CFO

Overview: VC-Backed Internet Start-Up seeking the services of a senior financial and operating officer from the advertising industry, with overlapping expertise in online media/advertising.

Position: COO/CFO; Position starts as a consulting role and transitions to FTE

Location: Virtual for several months, then NYC headquarters

Company: Internet Start-Up/ VC Backed

Compensation:  Negotiated, commensurate with experience

Purpose of Position: Venture firm is in later stages of development of a start-up company whose business model offers a unique way of monetizing social media messaging. The company is looking for a C-level operating and finance executive from the advertising world to lead the ramp of operations, achieve key milestones, refine financial assumptions, and prepare the company for aggressive growth.

This new organization is rooted in social networking/media and has a strong tie to charitable giving. The company was founded by a group of graduate students attending a summer business course. More details on the business plan will be provided after an NDA is in place.

Primary Functions:

 - To lead on all financial matters including refinement and evolution of financial model

 - To lead the build out of our operating platform, including setting up operations and ramping model to full capacity

 - To work closely with the CEO to translate long-term strategy into operational results

Requirements and Qualifications:

 To perform this job successfully, an individual should meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications:

 - Significant experience in senior level finance and operating position(s) with major ad-agency or in the marketing department of a Fortune 1000 company with substantial ad budget

 - Hands-on experience

 - Comfortable working in a start-up environment. Prior start-up experience a plus.

 - In a position to take on a project for the intrigue, challenge, and charitable aspect as well as the personal financial reward
