We have an exciting opportunity available in our Louisville, KY headquarters for a Project Manager. We are looking for a project manager with significant experience in the transit marketplace.  A minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience will be needed.  


 


 


 


PROJECT MANAGER – SAFETRAN


 


 


 


BASIC FUNCTION


 


The Project Manager is responsible for the strategic planning of systems projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities include customer service, contract bid reviews, risk management, change orders, cost-to-complete analysis, financial reporting, schedule development and regular monthly updates, monthly billings and cash receipts, and the coordination of all departments and parties involved to meet required contract deadlines from project start to substantial completion.


 


 


 


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS


 


Reports to: Manager of Project Management


 


Supervises: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


 


 


 


SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. *Serves as point of customer contact for all contract issues.


 


B. *Writes and/or reviews all correspondence to and from customer.


 


C. *Controls and approves project spending based on budget established from final booking bid


 


estimate.


 


D. *Supervises project administration support.


 


E. *Manages in-house departments and field personnel to meet schedule and deadlines.


 


F. *Reviews and approves all product submittals to customers.


 


G. *Analyzes work progress against budget cost and schedules deadline dates.


 


H. *Supervises creation and monthly updating of critical path method schedule as required by customer specifications and deadlines.


 


I. *Analyses cost-to-complete against project budget.


 


J. *Analyzes project and bid risk as part of risk management plan and mitigation.


 


K. *Expedites invoice cash collection.


 


L. *Submits and reviews monthly invoices.


 


M. *Evaluates CPM schedules for submittals.


 


N. *Manages all Quality Assurance project issues.


 


O. *Develops strategic plan for critical path method scheduling that includes but is not limited to the engineering of vital and non-vital circuit design, PLC cabinet design and programming, HMI programming, training, material procurement, environmental testing, wiring and production, factory testing, field testing, punch-list and contract close-out.


 


P. *Reviews contract bid specifications.


 


Q. *Develops Project Management bid estimates.


 


R. *Develops the Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL).


 


S. *Develops project detail cost breakdown spreadsheet.


 


T. *Initiates and develops contract change orders and conducts change order negotiations.


 


U. *Forecasts monthly financials to executive management.


 


V. Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as required.


 


W. Establishes individual goals that are aligned with the Company’s business strategies and objectives.


 


X. Functions as a contributing member of the department’s team and other teams, as assigned.


 


Y. Performs other duties as assigned by executive leadership.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING


 


A. 4 year degree or equivalent in industry experience.


 


B. 5-10 years Project Management experience within industry.


 


C. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferable.
