Director of Engineering

Client: Our client has has designed and built integrated metalforming, assembly and welding systems to fabricate sheet, circular and tubular parts for the automotive, white goods, HVAC and other industries, for over 30 years. Director of Engineering:  The Director of Engineering provides technical leadership to engineering managers and project teams responsible for the design of high performance production lines for spinning, flow forming, sheet metal forming and welding systems.  Directs department of several dozen engineers and technical professionals to ensure engineering support is provided to customers, sales, project managers, manufacturing and international facilities.  Oversees the preparation of engineering time and cost budgets for equipment projects and manages actual expenditures to ensure timely completion within the estimated amount.  [and from below: Outstanding skills at leading, mentoring and motivating people.] Evaluates, advises general management of opportunities, and implements new state-of-the art technologies as applicable for product improvement, cost reduction and new product development.  Domestic and international travel is required.  Required Qualifications: 

• BS in Engineering (BSME preferred)


• At least ten years additional technical and managerial experience with manufacturer of heavy-duty machinery or other complex electromechanical systems is required


• Must have extensive exposure to mechanical machine design and basic knowledge of controls (electrical/electronic/ hydraulic/pneumatic) 


• Prior CAD and FEA user experience is desired


• Outstanding skills at leading, mentoring and motivating people


• Hands-on engineering capability


• Factory-floor project management expertise


• Communications effectiveness both internally and with customers and suppliers will be key to successful performance in this position


• Experience in organizing and working with engineering organizations in India and China will be an asset for the person in this position
