This position is to backfill a current employee working in our DIA Field Support Team in Afghanistan. Overtime is authorized and work schedule is 7 days, 12 hours each day. This is a one year deployment to Afghanistan, rotating out of or DIA Field Support Team at McDill AFB in Tampa, Florida. Specifically we need a Property Book Specialists. Must have a current TS Clearance with SCI access. Must be able to deployable to Afghanistan on a 1 year rotational basis out of Tampa. Compensation is approximately $150K per year
What we are looking for is someone with not "logistics", but property accountability, inventory management, hand receipt management, warehouse, receiving, issuing property type of work. Good old fashioned PBO folks. Please do not apply unless you have a current TS/SCI security clearance.
POSITION SUMMARY:As a team lead, coordinates the work of a group of logistics analysts who provide management, customers, and subcontractors with basic logistics technology and information that ensures effective and economical support for material, service, equipment and systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Determines support requirements including facilities, personnel, safety, and maintenance.Directs and coordinates program activities designed to ensure effective and efficient economic support. Analyzes and evaluates design concepts to determine if concepts satisfy support requirements.Anticipates logistics problems related to operational area and environmental and human factors. DeterminesT contingency requirements and solutions. May design and conduct research or technical studies to support logistic functions. Provides creative leadership from knowledge of industry best practices and most current developments in logistics. Determines logistic support sequences and time phasing, problems arising from location of operational area, and other factors, such as environmental and human factors affecting personnel.Participates in planning and policy development issues. Provides regular reporting to senior management on logistics issues. Participates in the creation of procedures and communication material that document logistic practices.Provides leadership for less experienced staff.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Typically requires a bachelors degree (in Logistics Management or related field) or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face.
Our client specificailly requires that the Property Book Specialist is responsible for updating the Property Accountability Support System (PASS) database for Hand Receipt Accounts. This includes establishing property accountability for new equipment and/or equipment Found-on-Base and posting changes in serial numbers, locations and make/model descriptions as needed. Coordinate with team leader to obtain cataloging service for new equipment, and obtain identification numbers for equipment as appropriate. Assign/re-designate identification numbers for equipment that does not have identification numbers assigned. Responsible for maintaining accurate files for each piece of equipment as directed by the Property and Financial Accountability requirements. Duties include cradle-to-grave record keeping. Provide technical assistance to the hand receipt holder in response to requests from the sites or Property Book Officer. Provides professional level expertise and counsel to the Program Management office on property accountability, and serves as liaison officer with the Program Management office for other logistical actions as required. In this capacity, this position requires coordination with appropriate warehouse, material management, contracting, property book, transportation and facilities management divisions and branches when actions are requested by the management office. Responsible for office records management, establishing and maintaining a wide variety of files and records of correspondence, reports and various technical data as needed.
