Vice President of Engineering

Leadership opportunity for an engineering executive with strong technical engineering skills, a dynamic personality and a hands-on, coaches approach to management.  This organizational change agent will be focused on improving and updating processes and procedures, and be the catalyst which drives product innovation and improved market share.

Duties and responsibilities for this position are:

•    Provide strong leadership and guidance to the engineering, quality and customer satisfaction functions of the organization.
•    As a high visibility/high impact change agent within the organization, define, refine and implement systems and processes within the organization which supports the overall strategic goals and growth of the organization. 
•    Provide the technical guidance to the engineering and quality teams which aggressively drives new product innovation and allows the organization to maintain and gain a competitive market advantage.
•    Work in tandem with and across business unit boundaries to develop and implement plans which promote organizational growth and operational efficiencies.
•    Consultatively provide the standard for customer application needs, and ensure product performance conforms to customer requirements and all applicable industry standards.
•    Coach, mentor and develop subordinates, with specific attention paid to the development of high potential and successor candidates. 



Desired experience is:
•    Demonstrated experience leading an engineering team with specific product design and manufacturing experiences with:
-    magnetic drive centrifugal pumps
-    vertical centrifugal pumps
-    axial flow pumps
•    Demonstrated successful experience as an engineer and leading an engineering team in an engineer to order business.
•    Successful engineering experience with product which handles and produces molten sulphur, sulphuric acid and associated chemicals.
•    Demonstrated experience in alloy development and foundry processes
•    Knowledge of pumping phosphoric acid slurry
•    Knowledge of molten salt and salt crystallization processes   


This position has two director level reports, one in design engineering, the other in quality, and total span of 12 engineering professionals.  Requires a Masters level degree, and demonstrated experience working within and successfully using lean manufacturing, design and six sigma tools to promote and implement change will be considered heavily.
