Key Role:
Support DoD and civilian agency clients by performing project management and technical support, including programmatic and technical support to formulate and implement approaches to facilities planning and management with an emphasis on energy management. Perform energy audits of large facilities through energy surveys, analyses, and assessments. Provide task support, including reviewing consumption data and establishing the baseline energy usage. Identify the types and costs of energy usage, identify and analyze energy performance and energy efficiency opportunities for building systems, equipment, and energy practices, perform economic analyses on alternatives, and determine the cost effectiveness. Provide subject matter expertise in codes and standards, indoor air quality, energy accounting and economics, energy audits and instrumentation, electrical systems, HVAC systems, motors and drives, industrial systems, building envelop, energy procurement, building automation and control systems, green buildings, LEED, Energy Star, lighting, boiler and steam systems, maintenance and commissioning, and alternative financing. Provide direct interface and frequent communication with government points of contact and multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and construction specialists.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: -8+ years of experience with engineering -Experience with providing programmatic and technical assistance to client programs geared towards facilities management -Experience with auditing energy programs for large facilities, energy program planning, and cost and feasibility analysis on energy projects -Experience in working with advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel and Project -Experience with program development and implementation to meet the goals of the Energy Policy Act 2005, including the Energy Independence and Security Act 2007 and Executive Order 13423 -Knowledge of drafting software, including AutoCad -Knowledge of the standard tools and equipment for performing audits, including current meters, voltmeters, and other power monitoring equipment to determine electrical load characteristics, light intensity meters, psychrometers, air velocity measurement devices, pressure measurement devices, and data loggers to determine isolated equipment operating characteristics -Knowledge of DoD and federal agency management programs -Knowledge of software tools for evaluating energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability in buildings, including databases, spreadsheets, component and systems analyses, and whole-building energy performance simulation programs -Ability to analyze and interpret engineering plans and specifications -Ability to obtain a security clearance -BA or BS degree in Engineering Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
