Northrop Grumman Technical Services sector is seeking a Strategic Planner (A398) Level 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Multiple Locations (Worldwide). The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans Team supporting Joint Staff (J-8) and the Combatant Commands providing functional area subject matter expertise for studies, analysis, and assessments of Defense programs, processes, doctrines, policies, plans and strategies as well as providing guidance, advice, and recommendations to support implementation and revision of the Defense Strategy. Roles and Responsibilities: * Support studies of joint and combined warfare across all domains and types * Provides advanced technical knowledge in national security; international relations, military operations, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands * Develop and coordinate revisions to applicable CJCS and JROC documentation and coordinate reviews with appropriate stakeholders to include JS, OSD, COCOMs, Services, and other agencies. * Provide expertise in modeling, simulation, and analysis of joint, combined, conventional and irregular warfare * Review courses of action presented by the Services, Service component commands, DoD agencies, and military organizations to assess adequacy of resource and force generation plans toward achieving DoDs goals. * Provide support in the assessment of Defense Acquisition programs and processes to include reviewing process compliance and evaluating program cost, schedule, and performance for potential alternative solutions, and establishing criteria and triggers for decisions. * Provide support to the Force Structure, Resources, and Assessment Directorate of the Joint Staff and CoComs * Provide support to the Plans and Policy Directorates of the Joint Staff and CoComs * Provide support to the Functional Capability Boards; JCIDS processes; and Analytic Agenda processes Provide both strategic and operational support for deliberate, adaptive, crisis, and campaign planning analyses and plan development for the Joint Staff J-7, supporting all aspects of Joint Operational War Plans Division (JOWPD) policies, objectives, and initiatives. Provide Adaptive Planning technology subject matter expertise and training to the Joint Planning and Execution Community (JPEC) in developing, formalizing, and refining, Adaptive Planning technology support to war games, exercises, instructional activities and planning events. Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * Bachelors degree with 10 years experience OR Masters with 8 years of task related experience * Position requires a current TS/SCI Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: * Experience serving on the Joint Staff or other staff particularly in the JS J8 or J5 and at the Combatant Commands * Understanding of military command and control, force structure, and unified and specified level joint planning processes and mission analysis * Experience with JCIDS (CJCS 3170) and/or the Analytic Agenda and National Security an/or functional capability boards This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and/or customer approval.
