Instruments Engineer (DCS / PLC)

Location:  Longview, TX

Compensation: $ 100,000-$110,000    

(Commensurate with Experience)

QUALIFICATIONS and DUTIES:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.


• Minimum five years experience as an Instrument/Electrical Engineer working on DCS/PLC’s in a Petrochemical Manufacturing facility is required.


• RSLogix, ProVox and Delta V experience preferred.


• Net and Data Historian experience with OSI PI preferred.


• Requires experience with general systems integration and control networks.


• DCS administration and coordination of but not limited to:
  
  
  
  • DCS involved projects and/or control system modifications
  
  
  • Software and hardware upgrades
  
  
  • Diagnostic monitoring of system
  
  
  • Image and project backups
  
  
  • Testing of configurations
  
  
  • Interface with factory rep on maintenance visits
  
  
  • Power supply monitoring
  
  
  • Cleaning and inspection
  
  
  • Keep maintenance log current
  
  
  • Maintain spare parts and hot standby system
  
  
  • History backups and maintenance
  
  
  • Monitor DCS network for communication errors
  
  
  
  


• Regulatory control loop tuning


• Data historian support


• Operations support runtime and during unit startup/shutdown


• PLC/MMI administration and coordination of but not limited to:


• PLC/MMI involved projects and/or control system modifications


• Maintain PLC/MMI software programs and database documents


• Provide technical support to maintenance on PLC/MMI troubleshooting


• Program PLC/MMI for projects


• Software and hardware upgrades


• Maintain spare parts and hot standby systemsAttend hazard reviews with production for project implementation


• Prepare, execute and document managements of change (MOC)


• Serve as project sponsor for capital projects.


• Perform internal technical training sessions for other personnel.


• Working knowledge of process instrumentation.


• Provided technical support to I/E maintenance


• Perform duties in a manner that protects personal safety as well as the safety of all personnel on site.


• Whenever appropriate; promptly report Safety, Health or Environmental incidents or issues to management so the situation can be corrected.


• Share weekend/holiday call duty with other staff personnel.
