Senior Model & Simulation Manager

Northrop Grummans Information Systems sector is seeking a Senior Model & Simulation Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  This position will be located in Suffolk, VA.

Put your years of experience into a future of excellence...  The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans M&S Program, supporting a unique joint staff capability supporting the integration and synchronizing DoD military activities with US strategy and other government agencies.   The Sr. Model & Simulation Manager represents AWS to M&S forums internal and external to the company.  Responsible for M&S training program performance to include management of project, technical quality, process compliance and subsystems of major programs. 

 

Primary Role and Responsibilities of the Sr. M&S Mgr will be:
•  Develop and manage M&S IR&D programs. 
•  Interface with senior level customers on M&S applications to training.
•  Develop and lead M&S strategic marketing & business development for M&S. 
•  Develop and implement AWS vision & strategy for modeling/simulation training.  
•  Ensure compliance with organizational processes and procedures for legal/contractual requirements.  
•  Coordinate and oversee program phases such as: initiating, planning, executing, controlling & closing.  
•  Provide periodic status reports, project status, and variances to management and customer orgs. 
•  Manage implementation of project processes, including planning, risk management, integration, scope control and subcontractor management, as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
•  BS in business mgt, graphics, or related engineering discipline + 14 years of exp in military and/or defense industry.
•  10+ years experience with DoD modeling and simulations (M&S)
•  10+ years of US military experience as a military member or contractor
•  Current in all aspects of M&S applications to DoD training and with all current training simulations
•  Knowledgeable in requirements generation, design, development and application of M&S to training
•  Able to communicate effectively with customers and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
•  Understanding of all aspects of DoD M&S as it applies to training with particular expertise in visualization 
•  Leadership skills required range from (ability to challenge, inspire, enable, model and encourage staff), and the ability to collaborate and foster cooperation across the Sections, Department and Division as required.
•  Candidate must be tactful and diplomatically oriented to work in a multi-dimensional service, government, and contractor environment.

 

Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret level security clearance . Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
•  Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance.
•  Vision of future M&S applications to DoD training
•  Demonstrated ability to lead M&S development teams
•  15+ years of experience with DoD training and M&S policies
•  Experience and understanding of relationship of training to readiness
•  Direct M&S development management experience for training applications
