Requirements:

Our client company, a billion dollar global manufacturing company, has a senior employee retiring and is seeking a US Procurement Manager / Global Commodity Manager.  This role will function to direct and lead some plant level activities and also manage several global commodities.  The right candidate will have the following attributes:

• 4-year degree (BS Chemical Engineering or Chemistry preferred)


• MBA desirable


• Prior salaried leadership / direct reporting responsibility


• 10+ years of Global Sourcing experience -  Leading and improving a team, managing multiple suppliers, writing contracts and developing alternate / second source supply base


• Strong character qualities - high morals / ethics


• Global experience sourcing of resin, specialty chemicals and materials


• Knowledgeable in Lean manufacturing principles and methodologies, Six Sigma certification or CPM / CPIM / CSCP a plus


• DEMONSTRATED HISTORY OF ACHIEVEMENTS AND QUANTIFIABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS  Looking for resumes showing achievements (i.e. not only cost savings, but how you got there), goal driven, metric driven (ex. reduced 3,600 supplier list by 13% by doing X, Y & Z).


• Articulate and able to communication effectively with Senior Leadership team


• Foreign language skills and low cost region sourcing experience highly desirable – Asia and/or Eastern Europe (must have the ability to occasionally travel internationally)
