Traffic Manager (Inbound)

This position is responsible for running a backhaul program whereby 75-80% of the trucks return with needed product.  Approximately 1 million cases of food products are backhauled weekly; and, the private fleet also hauls freight for profit whenever justified.

I’m looking for someone who has worked on the vendor side and negotiated customer pick-up allowances with carriers and wholesale food distribution companies.  Must understand vendor compliance policies and also be a tough negotiator.

Necessary Qualifications

8+ years transportation experience, with some having been with a food manufacturer. 

Previous experience managing a transportation department. 

Successful experiience negotiating customer pick-up and backhaul allowances. 

GREAT negotiating experience and skills. 

Thorough understanding of freight rates.

Thorough understanding of vendor compliance policies and the various fines, penalities and deductions that may apply if customer receiving requirements are not followed.
