Director, Industrial Engineering

This individual will be responsible for operational processes, space utilization and labor capacity planning within the Distribution Center. 

Primary Responsibilities:

•  Analyze current state of operational effectiveness to create a foundation for improvement.






• Design strategies and execution plans to implement new practices.






• Lead engineering projects that support Distribution operations, promoting continuous improvement and quality output, e.g. Time Study and Labor Capacity & Standards.






• Provide capacity and equipment planning to support all processes on the floor of the Distribution Center, including: Receiving, Returns, Picking, Packing, Shipping and Customer Compliance.






• Lead strategic engineering programs to improve cross-functional systems and work flow while supporting both customer and operational needs.






• Use strong analytical skills, inventiveness and technical knowledge to effectively drive creative, solution-based efforts.






• Direct effective interactions and positive cooperation across the organization as related to engineering programs and the achievement of company goals.






• Management of engineering budgets.






• Utilize knowledge of SAP system to enhance all operational effectiveness.

Key Decisions Owned:

• Industry best practices analysis of methods to be utilized at the company.






• Industry best practices for SAP utilization.






• Recommendations on efficiency methods to be used.

Desired Skills/Experience:

• 5-10 years of related experience.






• BS Degree in Industrial Engineering required, MS Degree preferred.






• Experience in the distribution of Consumer Products or packaging within a supply chain operation; manufacturing background is a plus.






• CPG experience required.






• Proficient understanding of Warehouse Management Systems and SAP.






• Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously; strong time management skills.
