Job Title: Director, Operations
Reports to: General Manager
Responsibilities
In this top management team position you will manage our manufacturing, product development, facilities and materials functions. You will lead a support staff in assembly and test, and will work closely with the engineering, sales, and finance groups to achieve our business and financial objectives. As part of the management team, you will participate in developing annual and long-range division business strategies and tactics. You will take the initiative to pursue appropriate business, while meeting financial objectives of existing business. Your group will work closely with technical customer elements to assure conformance to their requirements. Your organization will participate in the preparation of quotes and proposals and, as part of a team, work with customers to sell our ideas and designs. You will work, on an ongoing basis, with senior members of the management team including Engineering, Product Assurance, Business Development and Finance to manage our business processes through the factory. You will develop budgets for your organization and will be held accountable for managing those finances. You will be responsible to seek and develop opportunities for manufacturing innovation and creativity, working closely with the sales and engineering personnel to identify and exploit business opportunities.
Requirements
You should have an applicable engineering degree (MBA preferred) and at least 15 years of operations experience in the microwave or very similar industry. You should have at least 10 years of experience in a management role, managing high technology assembly and test operations. You’ll need experience with space or high-rel microwave manufacturing including clean room operations. You should have well-developed management skills including communications, planning, delegating, coaching, organization and personnel development – and a track record attesting to your abilities in this area. You should have proposal preparation experience and be skilled at working with customers. You should have a strong track record of innovation and creativity in manufacturing technology and product development. You should be detail-oriented and have strong verbal and written communications skills. Regular and dependable attendance is required.
