Position description: the reservoir engineer will
· Identify, prioritize, present, and monitor oil and gas development and exploitation projects
· Seek to increase the financial fortunes of the company through creative cost reduction and creative enhancement and discovery of additional hydrocarbons!!!
· conduct reservoir studies that encompass analyzing logs, drafting structure and net pay maps, and managing databases
· analyze production data in order to quantify the volumes of oil and gas for reserves estimation and to evaluate the economics of workovers and the associated reserves.
· Monitor waterflood and polymer flood performance and recommends changes to injection-withdrawal schedules
· Research, design and justify new waterfloods and assists in implementation
· Research well files, extract pertinent engineering data, draw wellbore schematics from workover reports, and write workover procedures
· Take a lead role in identifying and justifying reserve additions and presents and defends reserve base to independent reserve auditor
· Produce structure, production, isobaric, and isopach maps
· Perform Nodal Analysis
· Perform rate-transient analysis
· Compile all relevant data into a complete history of and plan for future development of oil and gas fields
· Evaluate economics and profitability of potential projects for the company
Qualifications:
· 8 – 20 years applicable experience, mostly concentrated in TX, LA, CO and coastal GOM
· Solid water flood experience
· Ability to integrate geological and geophysical data into reservoir engineering calculations
· Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.)
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public
· Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities through effective time management
