Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled professional to be our Quality Assurance Director. This key role will oversee a staff of 20 with direct reports (QA Manager) at each of our manufacturing plants across the country. The Director develops, implements, and maintains Quality Assurance and Sanitation systems and programs to assure the highest possible quality standards in all incoming raw materials, outgoing finished products and the company manufacturing environments. Additionally they will meet requirements of external auditors and governmental agencies and act as a key liaison to customers (both internal and external) and regulators with respect to food safety, specifications and regulatory compliance, quality systems, HACCP and GMP.
What will this position be responsible for?
- Directs the quality assurance function, ensuring the effective maintenance, update and continuous improvement of quality systems.
- Supervise, develop & manage the Quality Assurance team to ensure consistent execution of QA policies and SOP’s across all plants.
- Develop and lead processes to insure high levels of GMP, Hygiene, and Sanitation.
- Manage the HACCP and Quality Systems necessary to insure the Manufacturing departments have the processes to produce high quality products.
- Provide Quality training to the Manufacturing departments.
- Manage the development of analytical methods to support new products.
What is required for consideration?- Bachelors Degree in Biology or an applicable discipline. Masters degree in QA or Science is preferred.
- 10 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Leader.
- 5 years managing teams in food sanitation and Quality control
- Ability to communicate professionally, both orally and written
- Ability to understand and analyze issues involving beverage manufacturing, natural sciences, mathematics (including statistics), technical and legal documents.
- Ability to understand issues in relation to product manufacturing operations and their impact.
- Ability to provide supervision, guidance and counsel to others.
- Ability to effectively organize, coordinate and execute.
- Ability to understand food and environmental regulations and their impact on the organization, and our customers.
- Ability to help develop and/or execute strategic plans to meet departmental and organizational goals while complying with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Prior experience managing multi-unit/multi-state facilities is required.
