We are currently searching for a Continuous Improvement Manager for a food/beverage manufacturing company based in the Mid-West. The Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the CI/Industrial Engineering team in multiple facilities. Other functions of the position include, but are not limited to:






  • Understand and build on CI (continuous improvement) approach being developed

  • Understand the needs of the operations group and collaborate with NPD (new product development), Purchasing and other groups to form the CI projects pipeline

  • Develop a rigorous CI cost improvement tracking methodology

  • Strategy development and deployment

  • Operations improvement including; identification of best practices and gaps, action to close gaps, project management and achievement of savings

  • Compliance functions including; GMP development and oversight, performance measurement, deployment of improvement tools and systems

  • Change and Improvement management including; continuous improvement and employee involvement


There is approximately 75% travel involved with this position as the CI Manager will oversee efforts nationally. The qualified incumbent will be instrumental in improving operational efficiencies company wide. The CI Manager will report to the Engineering Vice President and will have a dotted line relationship to other senior level Operational and Distribution/Supply Chain Managers. The qualified candidate can expect a very competitive compensation package including a great base salary with bonus potential and comprehensive benefits. Because of the amount of travel involved with this position, candidates can be based anywhere in the US, but must be located in a major metropolitan area. Requirements:


 


The qualified candidate must meet the following requirements to be considered for this position:



  • 5-10 years of current experience working in a food/beverage manufacturing environment with responsibility for continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated progressive and stable work history within the CI and engineering functions; i.e. experience in industrial engineering and Continuous Improvement at a plant level

  • Current food and/or beverage manufacturing experience

  • 4 year degree (BS/BA) in Industrial Engineering or related discipline is required. Advanced degreed (MBA/MS/MA) are highly preferred

  • Honed and developed people skills including the ability to effectively communicate with and manage teams

  • Strong operational skills including a strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain operations

  • Good understanding of the components of Total Delivered Cost

  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and logistics systems

  • Strong understanding of Industrial Performance tools and methodologies

  • Close proximity or residence in a major metropolitan area

  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
