Vice President, Procurement

Duties/Responsibilities:
•    Direct the strategic supply efforts for Emerald’s purchase of raw materials, utilities, packaging and supplies.  Lead other Emerald buyers in the overall strategy to reduce total acquisition cost of purchases across all Emerald businesses.   
•    Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures and quality standards across the EPM procurement network.  
•    Implement innovative solutions that support aggressive improvements in supplier quality, delivery, pricing and lead-times.  Deliver aggressive cost reduction goals through unit price, rebates, material substitutions and/or process improvements.  Drive recovery of duties and minimization of import and export costs.
•    Working with each business president, protect Emerald sourcing positions and expand options for supply, reducing dependence upon suppliers.  Develop best practices for selection of vendors.
•    Drive consolidation of spend through ongoing centralization of major materials and supplies.  Seek out synergies across plants in areas of maintenance, capital, utility, supply chain and other services.
•    Provide analysis, tracking and reporting of sourcing trends, performance against budget, and vendor performance on a regular basis to demonstrate progress against strategic objectives.
•    Direct logistics services across EPM, ensuring quality service through the third party provider at the lowest freight cost, and expediting where necessary to ensure business access to required transportation modes.  Consolidate warehouse services where practical.  Ensure compliance with all international logistics requirements.  
•    This position will be based at the corporate office in Cuyahoga Falls and be responsible for aligning the procurement process to the business at each of the sites.  

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

•    Team player working comfortable across business and functional lines, interacting at all levels of the organization.  Demonstrated ability to work well in a shared service environment, and support Business division needs.
•    Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
•    Bachelor’s degree preferably in Supply Management, Business Administration, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.  
•    Ten (10) years of procurement experience, ideally in a chemical manufacturing environment or similar industry.  Demonstrated track record of success in leading strategic purchasing efforts across diverse business groups.
•    Excellent negotiating, oral communications, written communications, problems solving and presentation skills.
•    Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to interact with ERP and purchasing systems.
•    This position is expected to travel 10-15% of the time as needed.

•    Certified Purchasing Manager or MBA a strong plus.
