Summary
Directs and coordinates activities of manufacturing, engineering, and quality, and aids General Manager in formulating and administering organization policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives.
Directs and coordinates activities of department or division for which responsibility is delegated to further attainment of goals and objectives.
Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
Confers with General Manager, other Senior Management, Management and administrative staff to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
Provides input to the development of manufacturing strategy and research and development of new manufacturing technology.
Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and reviews data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of assemblies ordered.
Drives the development of the manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
Ensures established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
Coaches and develops Managers and works closely with Human Resources Manager to ensure compliance with our principles, policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Coordinates manufacturing, quality, and engineering activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production, quality, and utilization of resources.
Reviews reports, data, and information and directs the resolution of problems to ensure minimum costs and to prevent operational delays.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages Manufacturing Coaches who manage hourly and salaried employees in the Manufacturing, Customer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, and Quality Departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and five to seven years related experience and/or training.
