Director of Engineering - BDW 0813-9

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Directs maintenance, metrology and facilities activities to support production equipment

·         Manages engineering projects to align with operational demands and company goals.

·         Directs activities supporting equipment receipt, installation and testing to conform to GMP and customer requirements.

·         Directs planning and execution of facility design changes to compliment operational needs in compliance with procedural, GMP and customer requirements.

·         Ensures safety regulations are followed and properly documented to provide a safe work environment for all engineering employees

·         Manage, review and write appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support GMP operations in supervised departments.

·         Supports validation team for process and packaging validation activities. 

·         Ensures staff is appropriately trained to perform assigned responsibilities.

·         Measures performance of equipment and prepares reports for management meetings.

·         Coaches and mentors department managers and supervisors, increasing the performance of the entire team.

·         Prepares and executes within department budgets.

·         Effectively communicates and works with other departments.

·         Supports all departments with other projects as necessary.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

·         10 years experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) facility within an Engineering department.

·         5+ years experience at a dry product (powders, tablets) pharmaceutical, nutritional supplement or food manufacturing company.

·         7-10 years management experience directing Engineering operations (including facilities and maintenance) at pharmaceutical, nutritional supplement or food manufacturing company.

·         5+ years experience designing and implementing HVAC, equipment qualification, facilities, preventative maintenance programs and calibration programs.

·         5+ years experience developing and managing to a budget.
