Joint Training Analyst/Planner - 21789BR

Specific Responsibilities:

This position is located at Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC), Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Periodic work will be conducted at Army Special Operations Command (ARSOC), Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Provide Joint Training support, reporting to the JNTC SE lead and JWFC Field Manager. The individual members of the team will work directly with individuals from the host program, the JWFC, and the Joint Force Trainer Community in accomplishing their assigned responsibilities. Primary role of the postions will be to perform future training requirement analysis and conceptual development of future training methods and systems. Individual will perform future training requirement analysis and conceptual development of future training methods and systems by analyze emerging COCOM missions / warfighting capabilities requirements and translate them into JNTC plans.

Conducts analytical studies of domestic and/or allied military, commercial or civil operations, which may lead to recommendations to improve operational effectiveness in the client organization. Analyzes, assimilates, and evaluates information relating to defined geographic or functional area of responsibility. Evaluates policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and objectives for conflict, resource estimates and impact. Identifies and analyzes extremely complex and/or highly sensitive systems and instrumentation, methods, procedures, and processes. Exercises judgment in determining methods of attack and defense, techniques to be used, and manner of presentation of results in all phases of analysis. Develops and/or prepares briefings, analyses, summaries or after-action reports which may include narrative, tabular or graphic materials. Provides program and budget expertise. Maintains and/or monitors integrated database tracking system for controlled correspondence to ensure expedient review, processing, editing, duplication, issuance, cancellation, and/or distribution. Participates as subject matter experts in on-going workshops, war games and experiments to identify and assess potential war fighting concepts and prototypes. Conducts functional training. Serves as functional or technical expert in the defense requirements review process.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 9 years USMC Special Operations or Army Special Operations (Ground) experience with Bachelors Degree or equivalent professional work experience.
• Expertise in joint operations gained while serving on a staff at division, fleet, numbered air force; or higher.
• Knowledgeable of host program training requirements.
• Expertise in high level training program planning and execution. (High level refers to responsibility for key aspects of the program.)
• Expertise in analysis of plans and joint training events.
• Demonstrated ability to develop plans, execute, assess, and adjust, evaluate, and report with little supervision.
  
• Must have active Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to facilitate meetings and sessions involving Service, inter-agency, JFCOM, COCOM(S), SMEs, and others involved in reaching a common goal.
  Possess an understanding of JFCOMs Directorate structure, its relation to OSD/Joint Staff, and its mission support requirement(s) to Services/combatant commands
  Understand technical integration issues with regard to technical support to training programs (Ranges, instrumentation, event control, models and simulations, communications/C4I, analysis and reporting systems.)
  Familiarity with DOD’s Strategy for Training Transformation and Training Transformation Implementation Plan.
  Well founded, non-opinionated communication skills are absolutely essential.
