Position Purpose:
The Gulfstream ODA requires all certification projects to be in compliance with FAA regulations, policy, guidance and directives. This position will have the responsibilities, accountability and authority to successfully manage specific approval programs to include post production Supplemental Type Certificate, Major Repair and Major Alteration, and Parts Manufacturing Approvals in compliance with all FAA requirements.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
1) Strategic Challenge Decision Making. The Site Program Administrators strategic challenge is to successfully create and manage specific design approval programs in adherence to all Gulfstream ODA approved process and procedures.
2) Having specific program/project responsibility, the Site Program Administrator will act on behalf of the Gulfstream Lead ODA Administrator and the Gulfstream ODA Enterprise Program Administrators to ensure the correct certification method is applied and compliance to all regulatory requirements is achieved.
3) The Gulfstream ODA ability to assume increased delegation from the FAA will be a function of building trust and confidence in the organization adherence to processes, procedures and documentation as demonstrated in project execution.
Other Requirements:
1) Knowledge of the Gulfstream ODA Operations Manual and all supporting documents.
2) Management experience in processes, procedures and project management, as well as experience in correctly applying the various FAA certification methods to a given project is mandatory. These attributes as associated with regulatory projects is critical.
3) The FAA will be involved in the selection of this Gulfstream ODA position.
4) Project complexities include simple alterations and repairs requiring minimal or no approval, repetitive type projects where previous designs are reused and re-approved, and highly complex projects involving alterations/repairs requiring special certification activities involving multiple FAA offices.
5) Project applications include the full Gulfstream product line as well as the product lines of other airframe manufacturers (e.g. Dassault Aviation, Bombardier, Cessna, Hawker-Beech).
6) The Site Program Administrator must understand the various certification methods, which method best fits the project scope and when a specific certification method must be applied based upon FAA requirement.
7) Business Unit Assignment Reporting Relationship. Site Program Administrator assignment is a post airplane production, Final Phase/Product Support position reporting directly to the Gulfstream ODA Enterprise Program Administrators with matrix organization responsibility to the Site Director of Engineering for site project assignment.
8) A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer.
Unique Skills Required:
Fimiliarization of FAA regulations and thier applications to aircraft design and certification. Strong program management skills with the ability to address multiple complex programs while ensuring compliance to federal regulations.
Experience/Education Required:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent.Eight to ten years related experience.Management experience in processes, procedures and project management is mandatory.
