Propulsion Engineer 5 IS / 088642

This Propulsion Subcontract Management Team Lead position will be responsible for coordinating all engine supplier activities for the BAMS program including cost, schedule, technical quality, requirements compliance, and customer satisfaction. The engine subcontract activities include delivery of production engines, responding to engine issues and their mitigation, further capability options for modified engines, and growth engines. Specific duties of this position include: management of cost and schedule performance to the Earned Value Measurement System (EVMS) baseline and program schedule; proper utilization of resources, processes and procedures; monitoring and managing Risk Items, to ensure mitigating actions are effective and timely; and all coordination and monitoring of the engine suppler. The candidate will use excellent communication, presentation, writing, leadership, and people skills in dealings with the supplier, customer, and NGC program management. Some travel required. Relocation assistance available.Basic Qualifications: B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, and 14 years turbine propulsion engineering experience. Ability to obtain a security clearance is required.Preferred Qualifications: Strong technical background in propulsion, previous leadership/management experience, earned value management systems (EVMS), and engine supplier management or contracting experience preferably with Rolls Royce, as well as a M.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
