Engineer 4 - Airworthiness - IS/091138

A Systems Engineering position in the discipline of Requirements Development, Management and Verification (RDMV). The engineer will perform requirements/specification development, verification planning and execution, allocation to Airworthiness Certification Criteria and overall airworthiness requirement management activities. Familiarity with Navy Systems Engineering processes and specifically NAVAIR 4.0P processes is required. This position requires a detailed knowledge of aircraft systems and flight test/evaluations. Experience in research, analysis, and development of requirements for military aviation systems, including standards and conditions of performance, is needed. The successful candidate will collaborate with NG Responsible Engineers and NAVAIR Technical Area Experts to gather applicable test/ verification data, and must be able to compose coherent, technical reports to explain how requirements have been verified. Technical experience, communications skills, and cross-segment integration will be critical to job success. This candidate will be expected to act as a spokesman for the Systems Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT). Occasional travel may be required. Basic Qualifications: BS degree in a related technical field with minimum 9 years experience or minimum 7 years experience with an MS degree in a related technical field. The candidate must have proven written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal, team, and leadership experience. An active Secret clearance is required. Experience in the use of systems engineering tools is required, specifically DOORS. Preferred Qualifications: knowledge of OPNAVINST 3710.7 and experience with UAVs and/or Naval aircraft.
