Oversees maintenance servicing, repairing and overhauling aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight. Ensures FAA maintenance requirements are met. Schedules maintenance and inspections. Obtains quotations from outside repair facilities for equipment that cannot be repaired or maintained in-house. Releases aircraft for flight. Recommends procedure changes to improve maintainability of aircraft and timely inspections. Consults manufacturers manuals for specifications and determines feasibility of repair or replacement.
Requires FAA aircraft and engine mechanic license. The person proposed in this position shall have at least fifteen (15) years experience with at least twelve (12) years maintaining complex, turbine powered, fixed-wing aircraft to include complex airframe modifications; with at least five (5) years of experience with C-12/RC-12/UC-35 or similar aircraft. Selected individual should be customer oriented and customer focused and very familiar with Army Maintenance Management Procedures and have worked other similar programs. Obtain knowledge and scope of this PWS; Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant License (FAA A&P) with an Inspection Authorization (IA), and three (3) years FAR Part 91,135, and/or 145 shops/facility management experience.
