DESCRIPTION: Integrated Product Design and Analysis Center subject matter expert for isolator and damping technologies. Will collaborate with Isolator Product Champion and IRAD principal investigators on design, analysis, and test of next generation vibration mitigation efforts for spacecraft launch loads, vibroacoustics, shock, and jitter. Will be a go-to resource for technology insertion concepts, risk mitigation options, and isolator design trades. Will propose, define, and provide technical leadership to PM&P and IRAD isolator development projects. Also assist System Dynamics Department Manager in documentation of isolator/damper design guidelines, lessons learned, and mentoring of junior engineers.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Advanced degree in Applied Mechanics, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering with minimum 15 years related experience. Demonstrated track record of published research, industry recognition, and leadership of isolator/damping R&D efforts is required. Experience & familiarity with internal and external customers and markets for structural dynamics, precision pointing & vibration control. Strong interpersonal, technical and mentoring skills a must. Preferred candidate will have experience with active/passive damping technologies, linear and nonlinear finite element modeling, experimental modal analysis, dynamic testing including sine, random and acoustic, and model/test correlation techniques. Current TS or SSBI, or ability to obtain one is desired. This requisition is a grade level 06/05. Final grade determination based on experience. Relocation Assistance Available.
