This individual will perform duties as the F-35 Supportable Low Observable (SLO) / Structures Engineer at Patuxent River NAS, MD and be responsive to the aircraft maintenance needs of assigned government personnel. The individual will act as Northrop Grumman Corporations technical interface to the customer in resolving issues arising from operations, maintenance, and other logistic support activities in the SLO/Structures environment. Candidate will also accomplish in-depth troubleshooting and analysis of F-35 Weapons System SLO/Structures difficulties experienced at the assigned location and assist in troubleshooting of Airplane General (APG) systems. Fully and completely document all unusual operational/maintenance problems to insure the contractor is apprised of and can identify emerging failure trends. Initiate contractor Action Requests (AR) identifying unique operational problems that require technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions to resolve. Provide on-site assistance to service personnel initiating ARs. Provide training to service personnel on F-35 weapon system maintenance when requested.Must be willing to work any shift and weekends if necessary to support operational objectives. Must be willing and able to deploy with DOD units to hazardous duty locations. DOD mandated vaccinations are required. Must be able to pass annual physical and must be able to wear DOD issued Chem-Bio Gear.Basic Qualifications: BS degree with at least 14 years experience in aircraft development, maintenance or customer support. Top Secret clearance required. Preferred Qualifications: Prior LO engineering experience on legacy platforms is desired with F-35 LO experience a plus. Four-year technical degree with prior field experience preferred. Airplane General (APG) or AandP license, advanced composite and structures experience is a plus. Extensive Field Service, or prior military experience preferred. Relocation Assistance Available. Security Clearance Required.
