Chief Operating Officer

Wolfram Research, Inc. is seeking world-class candidates for the role of COO in our Champaign, IL headquarters. As a member of the executive committee this position will work with the company’s CEO and a team of senior development and other executives to manage and grow this successful, diversified global software company.

This role is responsible for providing executive direction and oversight for Wolfram Research’s global sales, marketing, and strategy teams and the groups that support them. These teams include global commercial and academic sales, business development, partnerships, marketing, PR, support services and ancillary operations.

Specific responsibilities and goals include:

• Drive direct and reseller sales worldwide for a diverse suite of complementary products and deployment platforms sold to both academic and commercial channels through three major offices today – Asia, Europe, and US





• Create and execute marketing and marketing communications programs that generate productive leads and strengthen awareness of and preference for the Mathematica and Wolfram Research brands





• Build robust communities of users, enthusiasts, and fans





• Enact strategic and tactical initiatives to grow sector and geographic market share





• Strengthen and expand business partnerships and alliances





• Enhance quality, performance of and customer satisfaction with all services, including, technical support, customer service, educational programs, and user events





• Work effectively with development, HR, and Finance departments

Success will be measured by sales growth and the execution of division initiatives. Superior leadership skills and proven success in growing a business are essential attributes.
