Integrated Logistics Support - Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:


Manages and executes logistics support programs to include all Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements.


Provides ILS program direction and control including budget and schedule control for logistics support tasks performed by organizations assigned to execute program contracts. 


Integrates Logistics, Engineering, and Operations tasks associated with the support of products throughout the total life cycle of those products. 


Serves as ILS advisor to senior management on all program issues.


Works with other members of the staff to ensure that program milestones are completed in a timely manner. 


Manages cost and schedule, subcontractor requirements definition, logistics proposal development and coordination, contract negotiation and contract data.


Coordinate program activities with government contractors and personnel. 


Familiar with program best practices, and procedures.


Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


Performs a variety of tasks. 


A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.


Will be primary interface with customers on all program logistics matters.


Position Requirements:



  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years recent including 5 years experience leading logistics teams, preferably in a program environment. 10 years overall experience in the logistics discipline is preferred. In lieu of degree, 10 – 15 years directly related experience including 5 years in a leadership role may be considered.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with government contractors and employees essential, must act as first in line representative for the company with the government.

  • Ability to organize and conduct meetings, create and maintain database, track and report program activities

  • Must have the ability to take a project from cradle to grave.  This will involve the initial establishing of test plans, the execution of the test plans and the generation of test reports.

  • Must exhibit confidence and initiative to resolve a problem; investigate and identify any root cause,  identify component impact to other systems, and deliver a complete and documented resolution with little or no supervision

  • Must represent the company professionally and competently when dealing with suppliers and customers both external and internal

  • Must have experience in working entirely with the metric system

  • Will be required to work as part of a team, and lead on projects of varying degrees of complexity.


 


Must be capable of obtaining a security clearance with the Defense Security Service of the United States Government
