Director of Gasoline Supply & Distribution

Applicants for this position MUST have previous experience with physical trading of gasoline, ethanol, natural gas, distillate or propane! 

JOB DUTIES: This individual customarily and regularly directs the work of others, which includes but is not limited to: hiring, supervising, evaluating, counseling, and terminating personnel as necessary. This particular position will change and evolve depending on the focus of the company and the ability of the individual to handle new and challenging opportunities. 

Currently, the responsibilities of the Director of Supply & Distribution include but are not limited to the following:

 ·         Executes structured gasoline bulk buying program, including: hedging and trading of refined petroleum products; implementing and achieving risk management objectives; conducting sensitivity analysis using option pricing models; integrating bulk purchasing objectives with overall buying strategy of rack purchases, throughput and exchange buying of spot and contracted product.

·         Utilizes knowledge of arbitrage relationships, manages directional market-value relationships, maximizes buying/selling opportunities, minimizes cost of product purchased.

·         Negotiates spot and term product agreements, exchange agreements, waterborne/pipeline barrel agreements.

·         Appraises operating results in terms of costs, operating policies, trends and increased profit opportunities for product trading desk of Metroplex Energy.

·         Takes on special projects including Metroplex Accounting System

·         Directly reports to the Senior Vice President of Supply & Distribution. 

REQUIREMENTS: 5 or more years of experience and related degree.  Must possess strong analytical, communication, negotiation and decision making skills. Should have fundamental trading skills and an exposure to both pipeline trading and waterborne trading would be preferred.  Although gasoline trading is preferable, experience in ethanol, natural gas, distillate or propane trading will also be considered.  Qualified candidate must have very strong analytical skills, be able to determine and execute supply strategies, and understand the impact of global markets on supply.
