CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER

Position Description:

The CMO is the principal executive responsible for achieving our ambitious goals in the hosting, Enterprise and SMB market segments.  The CMO is responsible for the development and implementation of the corporate marketing strategic plan, and the development and attainment of specific marketing goals relative to advances in market share, demand generation, advertising and promotions, sales support, partnering and alliances, product mix, and profitability.  The CMO will manage the corporate marketing departments, and serve on appropriate corporate executive committees.

Along with the President, the CMO will play a leadership role in identifying and realizing the strategic vision but also the day-to-day requirements in the company which will realize its growth through its marketing activities; therefore skill level and experience must be significant to support the assigned responsibility.

The CMO will lead and drive all of the company’s initiatives in the marketing department, including Marketing Operations, Sales Operations, Branding, Public Relations, Media/Analyst relationships, Sales Management Support, Customer Service, New Account Acquisition, Business Development, Partnership Marketing, Strategic Relationships, Commercial and Retail Marketing.

The successful candidate will likely have:

• A great understanding and sense for IT Operations, data center operations, outsourcing, and Managed Hosting, and good knowledge of Saas, Cloud Computing, and other emerging IT market potentials


• Extensive experience forging strategic alliances to support the business model


• Ability to build and manage an exceptional marketing team in support of the strategic objectives


• 10+ years experience in executive marketing leadership and applicable accomplishments with IT service providers and software firms

The successful candidate will be a creative, energetic marketing and branding expert with high business acumen.  Accomplishments must include marketing programs and successes in emerging IT markets, with a focus on service providers. 

Must have:

• An in-depth understanding of brand architecture and brand management disciplines


• Track record of thriving in fast paced and cross-functional business environments, and of over-delivering against stretch targets


• Experience with sales and marketing budgets, P&L, and forecasting required


• Excellent analytical skills, with great attention to detail


• Ability to work effectively across functions, with minimal direction (self-starter)


• Outstanding verbal and written skills, with the ability to present data and conclusions in an organized, concise manner at all levels throughout company


• Must be comfortable within a high-paced, competitive environment


• Strong business person who thinks about issues from a business perspective; brings strong business and financial acumen to the role and uses this to complement his/her functional depth
